Awaken Your Wonder

We have been following the 'Wonder' series presented by Celebration Radiant Sisters for the past few months, and it has been an incredible experience. Through this series, we have learned how to find the wonder in our waiting, the wonder in saying yes, and we have been reminded of the wonder of God's love, among many other things.

As much as I’ve enjoyed this semester's study, I have to say, the first part of the year has not been very wonderful for me. Let me explain. The past five months have been some of the most exhausting, emotionally taxing, and prayer-filled months of my life. Back in November, we found out that my 56-year-old dad needed a heart transplant. This started the journey of 147 days in the hospital with multiple surgeries, life support machines, sleepless nights, and lots and lots of tears. Between trips to the ICU, ER, and Rehab Center, I am just exhausted. 

On February 13th, my dad got his new heart. Although he still has a long way to go to fully recover, we’ve made it to the other side! The Lord was with us every step of the way. By the grace of God my family and I get to have more memories with my dad. He is a walking miracle! 

One thing that this experience has taught me is that sometimes when you’re in the midst of “it,” whatever that it might be, and you’re so exhausted that it’s hard to find the wonder, it can be hard to hold onto hope. But ladies, I want to encourage you that when you find yourselves in those moments, those experiences, where life feels hopeless and you need a miracle, remember that we serve a wonderful God who is HOPE and can renew our wonder. 
 

Just as Psalms 33:20-22 says: “We put our hope in the LORD; he is our protector and our help.  We are glad because of him; we trust in his holy name.  May your constant love be with us, LORD, as we put our hope in you.”
